Ladomyria Ethnopark

It is considered to be limited access for visitors using wheelchairs and for people with visual impairments.

Description

Artspace is located in the city of Radyvylov, Rivne region. It is presented in the form of four locations:

  • An open-air museum
  • The "Ethnobrands Workshop" project
  • A weaving workshop "Serpanok," and an authentic costume museum

The area of the ethnopark is 8.5 hectares of land.

In 2021, the museum received the Ukraine tourism award in the "Regional Breakthrough of the Year" nomination.

The exhibits were three reconstructed buildings - a typical one-story residential building of Volyn of the 19th - early 20th centuries; a residential building of the same period, representing the Ivano-Frankivsk region, and a cellar (or "cold storage") - a separate farm building, which peasants used to store grain, products, clothes, and other valuables. All houses are wooden and recreated by artisans using authentic technologies using traditional materials for Ukraine's respective regions. Practical courses on reproducing original clothing were organized, in which 30 craftsmen from all over Ukraine participated. Based on "Ladomyria," they deepened their knowledge of weaving, embroidery, and tailoring traditional clothes.

The main goal of the ethnoresidence workers is to arrange a historical-tourist hub, which will be the starting point for a trip to the Rivne region for Ukrainian and foreign tourists. It will also allow visitors to find themselves in Ukraine of the 19th century.

The museum continues searching for artifacts, household items, and items authentic to Ukrainians of historical Volyn and western Ukraine. In addition, the ethnic complex conducts research on the cultivation, harvesting, and preparation of mushrooms, studies the technology of authentic painting, carries out work on the return to use of original Volyn jewelry, and also engages in book publishing: the book "Great Volyn" was published here - a large-scale scientific work on the study of the territory of historical Volhynia, starting from the most ancient times until the appearance of the Slavs.

In the ethnopark "Ladomyria," they are engaged in the manufacture of authentic clothes. They started work on the revival of hazel cloth, which was woven in Polissia from selected varieties of flax.

The expositions are located in: the Museum of Hand Weaving in "Ladomyria" and the Museum of Authentic Costume.

The most significant value of the Museum: 5 entirely reproduced hazy suits made of Ukrainian hand-made fabric, which combines lightness, transparency, and at the same time, strength and durability.

More than ten looms of various purposes and specifications have been reproduced in the weaving workshop. A tour of the territory of the workshop includes a practical acquaintance of visitors with the processes of weaving clothes.

One of the locations is the Fireplace Hall of the museum. This large hall is designed for creativity, holding press conferences, and master classes and made in ethno-loft style, with large windows and wooden decoration. Depending on the needs of a specific project or event, the area of the hall can be transformed and divided into zones.

During the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the fireplace hall of the Ethnoresidence became a local volunteer center.
